It’s no mystery that Google isn’t entirely welcome in China.with many restrictions with which it has to work and many services that are not directly available due to the country’s policies, but it seems that the last service to receive a farewell has been, strangely enough, the Google Translate.
In itself, Google Translate was not available in China until 2017, something it did through an exclusive application for mobile users, as well as a specific website to access from China, but just 5 years later, in 2022, Google has made the service inaccessible from China without a VPNsomething that marks an effective closure of the service without prior notice.
In principle, as we read in Gizmodono direct answer has been received as to why Google translate has been closed in China, but finally they have recognized that, due to a reduced use of it, it has been decided to close itsomething that sounds strange, but may be true considering that Google China only has 2% of the search engine market share.
It may be a matter of time before other Google services disappear from China, taking into account its refusal to comply with some of the impositions that apply there.
