Google has introduced improvements in the latest version of Google Chromewith which increases the response speed and performance of the browser for all users, both those with Android and Apple devices, achieving a improved caching and one more efficient memory management.
For the tech giant the speed is one of the fundamental principles of Google Chrome and, for this reason, it continues to advance in its intention to make the browser faster to guarantee a “more pleasant” experience for users.
As the company explains, increase response speed and performance HE requires a higher cost of consumption and memory. However, for users, browsers are expected to work quickly and consume the least amount of memory possible. Based on this, the technologylogic tries to find a balance between both features.
Now, as reported by Google through a statement on his blog, Thanks to the implementation of a series of technical advances in the Chrome engine, it has been possible to managed to increase the speed and efficiency of the browser implementing a improved HTML parsing and memory saving on both V8 and Olipan.
Specifically, according to Google, these improvements are designed to make the most of the browser on mobile devices. In the case of smartphones and tablets Android, being a broad ecosystem containing devices with different levels of abilitiesprogress has been focused on high-end mobiles using compiler flags tuned for speed instead of binary size.
In this sense, the compatible android mobiles with these versions of Chrome, they comprise a 30 percent improvement in the index Speedometer 2.1 browser benchmark. Following this line, in the apple caseGoogle has indicated that it has achieved improvements of 10 percent in the Speedometer 2.1 browser benchmark over the course of three months.
CHROME ENGINE ADJUSTMENTS
Among the adjustments implemented, one of the improvements has to do with a more efficient pointer compression in V8that is, an open source engine created by Google, and in Olipan the garbage collector for DOM objects (a platform interface or programming API for HTML documents).
As it has been developed, there have been optimizations in the way pointers are compressed and decompressed, avoiding compressing high-traffic fields, what has a widespread impact on performance.
