Made of aluminum and dominated by screens that now have significantly thinner frames (one of the most serious flaws of the previous generation), they incorporate a Tensor G2 processor designed by Google. If we are guided by the performance of the first generation chip, this new model should not be the fastest on the market, although it is quite competitive. And most notably, it should provide a nice boost to apps with AI capabilities.

In general terms, Google’s new bet in the telephone market is very continuous. The cameras, for example, still have a 50-megapixel main sensor, although now the Pro version can boast a 48-megapixel telephoto sensor with 10x zoom and the wide-angle camera provides greater amplitude. The base version remains more or less the same at the hardware level, although the front camera improves in resolution and quality.
It is the software where the new Pixel 7 really shine. Taking advantage of the flexibility of the chipset G2 turnbuckle and a more advanced camera app than the standard in current versions of Android, it is possible to take night photos of higher quality and with less delay. It even has a mode selfie special for the blind that provides voice prompts to center the camera properly in case they want to share an image with their contacts.
This camera software is complemented by exclusive features of Google Photos such as Photo Unblur, which “sharpens” the blurry photos in our personal archive (even if they were taken with another mobile) and a new mode that allows us to eliminate objects and people in the background of an image to avoid photobombings accidental.
Finally, and this is truly new, the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro will include the VPN from the Google One package from the end of the year to improve the privacy of online communications. According to Google, there will be no added cost of any kind, although “it will not be available in all countries” and “some data will not be transmitted via VPN”. The fine print on the device, which redirects to the Google One Q&A page, hints that the VPN will be offered in Spain.
