Google and Magic Leap will collaborate on the development of extended reality experiences

Google and Magic Leap They will work together to advance extended reality (XR) technologies and bring new immersive experiences and products to market.

Both firms have expanded their “long-standing” relationship with a new “multifaceted strategic” collaboration agreement in which they will contribute their respective experiences to advance research on extended reality.

Specifically, Magic Leap will contribute its experience in optics and augmented reality to combine it with the platform technology from Google, as they have pointed out in a joint press release.

In this way, they intend to “foster the future of the XR ecosystem with offers of unique and innovative products“, as expressed by Google’s vice president and general manager of AR/XR, Shahram Izadi.

For her part, Magic Leap’s technology director, Julie Larson-Green, added that this collaboration will also allow “to continue advancing in immersive experiences for the developer ecosystem and for customers.
