Google Accounts will allow us to log in with one-time keys

Google has updated its login system with the possibility of use our device to generate a one-time passkeywith which we will not have to remember several potentially complicated passwords in our day to day.

This has several security aspects, because, to begin with, we will be able to use much more complicated passwords than the ones we currently use at the slightest need to remember them when they are generated on the flywhile we do not have to store our passwords in services that can be hacked.

If, for example, we use our smartphone to generate these keys, it is most likely that we are already using a secure authentication system, such as the fingerprint sensor, a pin, or FaceID in the case of iPhones, so that, even if our smartphone is stolenit wouldn’t be very useful without this information that only we have.

Google is not forcing users to switch to these one-time keys, but they will already be available as an option along with two-factor authentication and traditional password authentication, so it is our choice to try to see if it adapts to our uses.
