Germany sends troops to Poland to assist in flood recovery work

The German Armed Forces reported this Friday that they have sent troops and an armored battalion to Poland to collaborate with the recovery work after the torrential rains that affected the country a few weeks ago and caused major flooding and even the death of several people.

The German Army has confirmed the sending of the fourth battalion of Armored Engineers to Bodzanow, in the center of the country; At the same time, a detachment of 120 soldiers has been confirmed “to deal with the catastrophe”, as detailed by the German military authorities on their official profile on social networks.

In mid-September, Poland suffered catastrophic floods that, in addition to leaving at least nine dead, also caused enormous material damage. The main job of the German military will be to unblock the channel of the Biala Glucholaska river, blocked by debris.

Storm ‘Boris’ especially affected central and eastern Europe, leaving severe flooding and more than twenty deaths in Poland, the Czech Republic, Romania and Austria.
