BERLIN, 19 Apr. (DPA/EP) –

German authorities delivered a Patriot air defense system to Ukraine on Wednesday to help the country protect itself from Russian missile attacks, the government reported on the website that records the supply of weapons to Kiev.

The mobile battery is one of the most advanced ground-to-air systems in the world. It can be used to combat enemy aircraft, ballistic missiles and cruise missiles, as reported by the German news agency DPA.

The German government agreed in January to send Patriot to Ukraine after a consultation process with the United States. Likewise, it has given training to a group of Ukrainian soldiers on the use of these anti-aircraft defense systems.
