The Georgian ambassador to the Czech Republic, Tea Maisuradze, presented her resignation this Monday in response to the suspension of accession negotiations with the European Union announced last week by the Georgian Prime Minister, Irakli Kobakhidze, and which has since unleashed massive protests outside Parliament in the capital, Tbilisi.

“I have submitted my resignation as Georgia’s ambassador to the Czech Republic. It was a great honor to serve the national interests of my country for almost two decades, promoting its European and Euro-Atlantic integration, while defending its sovereignty and territorial integrity,” she explained. on his X social network account, while ensuring his commitment to Georgia’s “European” future.

With his announcement, there are five ambassadors who resign in the midst of the enormous political crisis unleashed in recent weeks in the country. These are the Georgian diplomatic officials in Lithuania, Italy, the Netherlands and the United States, which this Saturday annulled its strategic agreement with Georgia.
