The Gaza Ministry of Health has condemned this Thursday the attack carried out the day before by Israel against Palestinian Red Crescent ambulances in the city of Rafah, in the south of the Gaza Strip, and which resulted in the death of two of its workers.

“We condemn the occupation’s atrocious crime of attacking an ambulance belonging to the Palestinian Red Crescent yesterday in the Rafah governorate and killing two of its crew while they were working,” reads a statement published on its profile on the social network X.

The Gazan authorities have considered that this attack “confirms the occupation’s intention to annihilate and collapse the health system in the Gaza Strip.”

The Palestinian Red Crescent said two of its paramedics had died “as a result of direct shelling by the Israeli occupation” in the Tal Sultan area of western Rafah while carrying out their humanitarian duty.

The death toll due to the military offensive unleashed by Israel against the Gaza Strip after the attacks carried out on October 7 by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and other Palestinian militias has increased to nearly 36,200, according to the authorities of the enclave, controlled by the Islamist group.
