The Ministry of Health of the Gaza Strip, controlled by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), warned this Thursday that the generators of the Al Aqsa Hospital, located in Deir Al Balá, in the center of the Palestinian enclave, will stop run for hours due to lack of fuel.
“The generators at the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital will stop within four hours due to running out of fuel. The injured, the sick and premature babies are at risk of death,” he said in a statement.
The Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT), the Israeli military authority in charge of the Palestinian territories, reported on May 10 that Israel had delivered 200,000 liters of fuel to humanitarian organizations operating in Gaza through the crossing. by Kerem Shalom.
A day earlier, the Commissioner General of the Agency for the UN Agency for Palestinian Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), Philippe Lazzarini, requested the entry of fuel and humanitarian aid for the Gazan population.
“Without fuel, trucks cannot transport critical humanitarian aid, water pumps will stop working and remaining hospitals will close. (…) Crossings must open for fuel and humanitarian supplies must begin to flow again to Gaza,” he said on the social network X.
