“These systematic and permanent attacks against the health system have deprived more than two million people in Gaza of receiving basic health care,” he said, while specifying that among these people more than 50,000 pregnant women and 12,000 cancer patients. “Hundreds of dialysis patients have died due to lack of care,” he said.
For this reason, he has stressed that “it is estimated that many more have fallen martyrs due to lack of health services”, which is why he has once again called on the international community to pressure Israel to “stop its aggression and its “killing machine” and allow thousands of wounded to leave Gaza to be transferred to specialized hospitals abroad.
“The Gaza Ministry of Health also renews its demand to all relevant parties to find mechanisms that guarantee the arrival of medical supplies to all hospitals, without restrictions, and that the entry of medical delegations is allowed,” he stressed, at the same time that has shown its willingness to “continue carrying out its humanitarian mission, regardless of the sacrifices.”
The offensive was launched by Israel after the aforementioned attacks on October 7, 2023, which left some 1,200 dead and nearly 250 kidnapped, according to Israeli authorities.
