June 29. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The authorities in the Gaza Strip, controlled by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), have raised this Saturday the number of dead to more than 37,800 and the number of wounded to nearly 86,900 due to the offensive unleashed by Israel against the Gaza Strip following the attacks carried out on October 7 by the Islamist group and other Palestinian factions.
The Gaza Ministry of Health has indicated in a statement that to date 37,834 deaths and 86,858 injuries have been confirmed, while underlining that “the Israeli occupation has committed three massacres against families in the Gaza Strip during the last 24 hours, with 40 martyrs and 224 wounded”.
Furthermore, he said that “there are several victims under the rubble and on the roads” and added that “the ambulance and civil defense teams cannot reach them.” Gazan authorities have indicated that around 10,000 people are missing, so the death toll could be much higher than officially announced.
The Israeli Army unleashed a bloody offensive against the Strip after the aforementioned attacks on October 7, which left some 1,200 dead and nearly 240 kidnapped. Added to these death tolls are more than 520 Palestinians killed in the West Bank and East Jerusalem in operations by Israeli forces or in attacks carried out by settlers.
