If you are a faithful follower of The Legend of Zelda, you will know very well that Ganondorf is the main antagonist of the saga. The villain is the male member of the Gerudo who, according to legends, is only born every 100 years and is chosen as the guardian of the desert.

The character has impressive strength and always tries to take advantage of it to conquer Hyrule, which is why he is the main person responsible for the different coups that the Royal Family has received throughout history.

An important piece of information is that Ganondorf possesses the Triforce of Power, which grants him a state close to immortality. The only weapons that can usually deal damage to him are the Master Sword and arrows of light.

Ganondorf or Ganon, what’s the difference?

One of the most frequently heard questions when it comes to talking about this character is whether his name is Ganondorf or Ganon, even several users believe that Ganon is just a shorter way of calling him. However, the trick to understanding this point is his physical form.

Although in some specific cases, such as in The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker It is called both ways, Ganon is the name to be used when the villain is in his beast form. On the other hand, Ganondorf is the name used when in his human form.

In which games does Ganondorf appear?

The character is one of the most important in The Legend of Zelda, although it is curious that it has not appeared in all the installments released so far. Yes, we could see some villains that reminded us of him or had the “essence” of him, but if we focus on Ganondorf (not Ganon), the numbers are reduced.

Due to this, we can say that the villain only appeared in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and recently in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
