Why is Gamer’s Day celebrated?
According to the Professional Video Game League of Mexico, this celebration arose in Spain in 2008 by the main Hispanic video game magazines: PlayMania, Hobby Consoles and PC Manía.
The objective of this day is to make visible the diversity of this segment of the population, removing prejudices such as considering that video games are a matter for young people.
Now, with the growth of social networks and platforms in which video game lovers dedicate themselves to streaming and interacting with the gamer community from other parts of the world, the celebration has become even bigger.
Companies celebrate Gamer’s Day with offers and promos
Some companies take advantage of this day to celebrate the players. For example, Burger King teamed up with DiDi Food for gamers to enjoy their favorite treats. In case you want a Whopper combo, you can have a 25% discount in the delivery app.
For its part, Spotify will allow a group session that allows you to invite up to seven members to control the same playlist. In this way, players can simultaneously listen to the content from anywhere through a unique code. They can choose the next song to play, add new songs or leave the session at any time.
To start, the player must go to the view of what is playing and access the option ‘Select a device’, which appears in the lower left with an icon of a screen and a speaker. They must then select Start a group session remotely and choose one of the options to invite up to 7 friends.
Once connected, they will be able to see the profile image of each player and each one will be able to control the music that is playing. If any of the participants clicks on the “Exit” button, the group session will automatically end. It will also have themed playlists.
Mercado Libre will also have some selected products at a discount, in addition to indicating that within its platform the best-selling console is PS5, with a growth of 33% compared to the previous year.
