Microsoft and Amazon have announced that in July the Xbox Cloud Gaming app, which offers access to cloud gaming to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers, will be available on Fire TV devices. In other words, it will be possible to play the cloud titles present in the Game Pass catalog directly on the television without the need for a console. Currently this app is present on Samsung Smart TVs.

Those interested in using the Xbox Cloud Gaming app on an Amazon device must have a streaming Fire TV Stick 4K Max (2023) or a Fire TV Stick 4K (2023). Once this requirement has been met, all you have to do is download the app through the Amazon App Store, install it, open it and log in with a Microsoft account. To play you must connect a compatible Bluetooth controller such as the Xbox Wireless and the Xbox Adaptive Controller, or the PlayStation DualSense and DualShock controllers. If you are not a member of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, it will be possible to subscribe through the application.

“In July, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members will be able to access and play hundreds of cloud games directly from the Xbox app on select Fire TV devices, without needing to use a console,” Amazon says. “This integration brings the extensive catalog of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate to your television when using a compatible Fire TV Stick device and a Bluetooth controller, making games more accessible. From epic RPGs like Starfield and Fallout 4 to pilot games with Forza Horizon 5, you’ll be able to enjoy console-quality gaming via cloud streaming.”

Amazon adds that “one of the biggest benefits of cloud gaming is the ability to enjoy premium games without having to invest in a console.” The company also remembers that Fire TV is a portable device, a feature that will allow you to move your cloud game collection between different rooms or even outside the home. Regardless of the location, you must have a fast and stable internet connection.

“Over the past few years we’ve been on a journey to bring cloud gaming to more devices and people around the world,” said Microsoft’s Ashley McKissick. “We’re thrilled to add Fire TV to our growing family of cloud gaming devices.” […]”.
