SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA, May 27. () –

The Technological Institute for the Control of the Marine Environment of Galicia (Intecmar) has participated in the European Union audit of the bivalve mollusk production system that New Zealand exports to the EU.

The Xunta Council has analyzed a report on this collaboration with the General Directorate of Health and Food Safety (DG Sante) of the European Commission together with the New Zealand Ministry of Primary Industries.

Thus, it is verified that the conditions for recognition of equivalence of bivalve production in this Oceanian country are maintained.

The inspection was carried out in a hybrid mode by a team of two auditors from DG Sante and two national experts, one of them the director of Incterma, Covadonga Salgado, during the months of April and May.

The community institutions recognize the experience of the technicians of this autonomous body that carries out more than 80,000 analyzes every year to guarantee the quality and healthiness of Galician seafood products.
