Design director Jakub Stokalski and art director Lukasz Juszczyk explain in a message to the community After analyzing the feedback from the Frostpunk 2 beta, they have drawn two big conclusions. The first is that they liked the title and the average score of the participants is 8 out of 10, and the second is that the feedback has allowed them to know which parts of the game they liked the most and which the least. After analyzing the comments, 11 bit studios has decided that to do justice to everything they want to add and offer the best possible experience, it was best to extend the development time.
“We know this is not the news you wanted to hear,” say Jakub and Lukasz. “However, we believe that these additional features are something you deserve to see in the game on day one, not with a patch after launch. We hope you understand that our decision comes from a desire to create the best possible game for you.” Among the list of things that Frostpunk 2 will gain now that it has been delayed we have adjustments to the game mechanics, improvements to the interface and user experience and a new feature called Zoom Stories.
The Zoom Stories feature.
Improvements to the game mechanics aim to make Frostpunk 2 feature a smoother gameplay experience, while also offering more options for city management. Among the improvements we have changes to gameplay based on temperature, heat and proximity, more detailed and flexible management of labor and a new resource to make city construction and expansion more strategic. Regarding Zoom Stories, it is a function that allows you to get closer to citizens, a tool that players were missing because Frostpunk 2 has a larger scale.
