According to the Observatory of Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Girls, Boys and Adolescents (Escnna) of the NGO Valientes, in 2023 they were reported 329 victims of crimes associated with the sexual exploitation of minors in Medellín.
President Gustavo Petro himself wrote a message on his X account in reference to the controversy, considering that “the cultural debate is fine” and defended that “There is a cultural confrontation between the surface and the depth of the things that youth are waging in their neighborhoods.“.
