FRITZ!Smart is the new home automation range from AVM and debuts with the Energy 250 consumption meter

AVM, the manufacturer of FRITZ! routers and network devices, previously had the FRITZ!Dect range for digital home or home automation in its catalogue. Now, the company has renamed its SmartHome line to the new FRITZ!Smart range.

All devices previously called FRITZ!Dect will therefore be renamed FRITZ!Smart, which is compatible with the open source standard Matter and guarantees compatibility with a wide range of systems and devices.

Taking advantage of this change, the company has shown us its latest launch for this market, the FRITZ!Smart Energy 250, a sensor that allows us to control the consumption of our devices to monitor it and act accordingly, optimizing the energy we spend at home.

The FRITZ!Smart Energy 250 does not operate directly on the power supply, but instead communicates with the latest digital meters that use infrared emission for readings. Basically, it is a consumption reader that allows data to be sent to devices in the FRITZ! ecosystem using DECT technology. Thanks to a system of magnets, it can be fixed and kept close to the meter so that it can send data in real time.

Naturally, the FRITZ!Smart Energy 250 is directly compatible with the FRITZ! device ecosystem and will display measurement results in the router’s own operating system, FRITZ!OS.
