July 4 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The French Government has announced this Tuesday that it has carried out a repatriation operation of 25 minors and ten women who were in an Islamic State prison camp in Syria.
According to a statement from the French Foreign Ministry, the country’s authorities have handed over the minors to child care services, so that they receive medical and social monitoring.
They have also indicated that the women, all of them adults, have been handed over to the competent judicial authorities.
Paris has added a thank you to the northeast Syrian administration for their cooperation.
In Al Hol camp alone there are some 500,000 displaced people, mostly women and children. Half of the children are less than twelve years old, so they “do not know another life” than the current one, which began after the outbreak of the war in Syria in 2011.
