April 14 () –
The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a statement recommending French citizens in Iran leave the country.
“Due to the new level reached overnight by Iran and the risk of military escalation, the French Embassy recommends that French residents in Iran have the possibility, depending on the resumption of international air traffic, to temporarily leave the country,” the Ministry published in a statement.
In addition, “they are asked to take extreme precautions when traveling, avoid crowds in the country and stay informed of the situation,” the text continues.
Regarding possible trips to Iran, Paris reminds that “French nationals are recommended to absolutely refrain from traveling to Iran, Lebanon, Israel and the Palestinian Territories.”
France will continue to assess and review the situation periodically and “given the proliferation of rumors, it is recommended to rely only on information officially disseminated by the French authorities.”
