France and Japan will carry out their first joint maneuvers with fighters next week

July 18 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The armies of France and Japan will carry out their first joint military exercises next week with the participation of combat aircraft from their respective air forces, as reported by the Japanese Armed Forces on Tuesday.

The maneuvers are scheduled to start on July 26 and last until the 29th, a period of time in which the fighters from both countries will fly over the vicinity of the Nyutabaru military base, in the southwest of the country.

The Japanese Army has thus indicated in a statement that approximately 120 people from the French Air Force will participate in the training exercises along with some six aircraft, including ‘Rafale’ fighters.

In addition, they will also have the presence of F-15 fighters, which will depart from the Nyutabaru base. It is the first time that Japan has carried out such maneuvers with a country other than the United States.

Given the arrival of the foreign military, the local authorities have asked the Japanese Ministry of Defense to implement security devices and noise control measures so that it affects the local population as little as possible.
