At least four people, including three children, have died from the collapse of the roof of a house due to the torrential rains that have hit the Pakistani city of Lahore, located in the east of the country since Wednesday, as confirmed by the authorities.
The Rescue 112 emergency service has indicated that the collapse of the roof of a house in the Amar Sidhu neighborhood has caused the death of four people, including three children under the age of ten, as reported by the Pakistani newspaper ‘Dawn’ .
Also, fourteen people have been injured by the collapse of a wall of the Mozang University Hospital. Pakistani authorities have issued a flood alert for Punjab province, following the deaths of another nine people on Wednesday.
The acting chief minister of Punjab, Mohsin Naqvi, has indicated that “everything is under control” and has asserted that the authorities “have started working” to address the consequences of torrential rains and floods. “The entire administration is working on this”, he has concluded.
