June 28 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Lebanese Shiite militia party Hezbollah announced this Thursday night the death of four of its members in bombings by the Israeli Army against southern Lebanon in the context of clashes that threaten to escalate the conflict in the Strip to a regional level. from Gaza.

The Islamist militants have been identified as Ali Ahmad Alaa al Din, Abbas Ahmed Surur ‘Sayed’, Hussein Qassem ‘Hadi’ and Abd al Amir Yawad Asili ‘Yawad’, according to Hezbollah statements shared by the Lebanese television channel Al Manar, which is close to the group.

Earlier, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported the “elimination of two operatives” linked to Hezbollah following a bombing of the village of Ramia, according to a post on its social media account X.

Likewise, they have reported the interception of 35 rockets and missiles launched from Lebanon, which have caused no casualties among Israeli forces.

The Israeli army and Hezbollah, which is backed by Iran and has significant political clout in Lebanon, have been engaged in a series of clashes since October 8, a day after the attacks on Israeli territory by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and other Palestinian factions, which left nearly 1,200 dead and some 240 kidnapped.

Tensions in the area have been rising since October 2023, after Hezbollah resumed attacks against Israel following attacks by the Palestinian Hamas movement. Violence has increased in recent weeks and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu recently warned that all scenarios were being considered.
