Four dead, including three police officers, in a serious traffic accident in northern France

May 21. (EUROPE PRESS) –

Four people, three of them policemen, have died in a serious traffic accident that occurred this Sunday on the RD700 road near Villeneuve-d’Ascq, in the North prefecture.

The French Interior Minister, Gérarld Darmanin, has reported the incident, in which there are also two “seriously injured” people. Darmanin has remembered the families of the victims and has expressed his “full support” for the injured.

The North prefecture has specified that the victims were agents of the Roubaix police station. They would be two men and a woman who were going from Dron, in Tourcoing, to Lille, accompanying a 16-year-old girl who had been raped, according to sources quoted by TF1.

A car traveling in the opposite direction collided with the police van in a violent head-on collision. The driver of this second vehicle has died and his companion is seriously ill, like the teenager.
