Write down the days when you should download the new patch. Developer Epic Games posted on Twitter when downtime will happen for the subsequent Chapter 4 Season 2 update of Fortnite. Stay tuned, because you only have until that day to get the last prizes.
The company has stated that the Battle Pass of Fortnite is valid and will be in effect until March 8, 2023, while the update to Season 2 will occur on March 10, 2023.
Since the status page of Fortnite mentions “last full day in all time zones”, it can be assumed that the servers will only be shut down after that.
Schedules for the Fortnite update
According to this logic, the transition to Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 will start sometime after the servers go offline. This can happen towards the end of the day on March 8 or in the early hours of March 9, 2023. Here are the Chapter 4 Season 2 release times in all major time zones:
- Pacific Standard Time: Thursday, 11:00 p.m.
- Mountain Time: Friday, 12:00 a.m.
- Central Time: Friday, 1:00 a.m.
- Eastern Time: Friday, 2:00 a.m.
- Brazil, Rio: Friday, 3:00 am
- UTC: Friday, 6:00 a.m.
- London, UK: Friday, 7:00 am
- Central European Time: Friday, 8:00 a.m.
- India: Friday, 11:30 a.m.
- Chinese: Friday, 2:00 p.m.
- Japan: Friday, 3:00 pm
- Sydney, Australia: Friday, 4:00 p.m.
- Auckland, New Zealand: Friday, 5:00 pm
If downtime and general updates take longer than planned, players should wait for it to end before moving on to the new season.
Since the new season will begin on Friday (weekday), March 10, 2023, most players living in the Eastern Time Zone are not allowed to play until the latter part of the day. Even if the update is delayed, it shouldn’t be a problem for most.
