Bannon was being charged for refusing to testify before the House of Representatives Committee of Inquiry about what happened during the takeover of the US Capitol on January 6, 2021.
He was found guilty of the two charges for which he was accused, one for refusing to give a statement and the other for refusing to deliver documents to the investigation.
The sentence is not yet known, which is expected to be determined in the coming weeks. However, contempt of Congress is punishable by between 30 days and a year in jail, as well as a fine that can range between 100 and 100,000 dollars.
