General objectives

Provide an overview of the different foresight techniques and tools to strengthen the strategic decision-making process in public management. It is also intended to publicize relevant experiences in the discipline of foresight, applied at different scales, especially the national one.

Learning objectives

  • Acquire an overview of the prospective methodology through knowledge of techniques, instruments and tools that allow strengthening the strategic decision-making process and anticipation in public management.
  • Know cases and experiences of application of the prospective in different scales.
  • Apply updated knowledge and tools in preparing a future study

Course duration

The course lasts four weeks, totaling 40 academic hours, with an estimated workload of 10 hours per week. It is an asynchronous course, so the activities can be distributed at the discretion of each participant (review of content and participation in forums). However, there will be synchronous instances of a mandatory nature, to promote the exchange of experiences and practices among the participants.

The course design is configured with a set of pedagogical resources and teaching activities that each participant must carry out mainly in a self-instructional mode, and other practical activities in small virtual groups.

Course methodology

The course understands learning as a process of building individual and collective knowledge, resulting from the combination of theory, practice and experience. Therefore, a combination of:

Knowledge of prospective methodologies, instruments and tools for the elaboration of long-term visions.

Application of workshops for the assimilation of learning, identification of challenges and formulation of questions.

This marks the beginning of the selection process of the candidacies that will be received until the August 31, 2023. Information received after this date will not be considered in the selection process. Between the days September 5 and 7, 2023Confirmation of acceptance to the course by the selection committee will be sent via email to those who have been selected. People who have received this email must confirm their participation in the course before the September 8, 2023.

The non-confirmation of participation will lead to integrate more applicants who meet the requirements to participate in the course.
