June 2 (Portaltic/EP) –

WhatsApp Fixed a bug that caused the blocking of the application and chats to whom the ‘wa.me/settings’ linkpreventing them from re-entering those conversations and, therefore, losing access to all data.

‘wa.me/settings’sThis is a link that should redirect to the application settings. However, as the engineer known as Brute Bee on Twitteran error caused the application to crash and denied access to the chats where it was sent.

To activate this bug, the link had to be sent through any conversation within the instant messaging platform. After that, the chat was showing as archived and, when trying to access it again, a message appeared error notification preventing the user from entering. Therefore, all the information and data that was held in said conversation ended up being lost.

The error was also occurring when trying to share this link in WhatsApp states. In this case, the application suffered a blockage and it removed the state automatically.

Apparently, the bug began to be identified a week ago, and as Brute Bee was able to verify, it affected the whatsapp versions on androidas well as to the version 2.23.10.77 of WhatsApp Business. However, it did not affect users of the iPhone messaging service.

Now, just as has shared the user On twitter, WhatsApp has already fixed this bug and you can send the link without being blocked in the application or in the chats.
