A total of 3,500 academicsin figures provided by the organization, have signed, for the time being, the document.

All of them, along with the other eleven protesters, are in preventive detention in order to prevent further actions from taking place. In this sense, they affirmed before the judge that they intended to continue with these until November 4.

The activists will be in preventive detention although, according to EFE, two of them will be released on November 1 and 2. From Scientific Rebellion they still do not know the charges that these protesters face.

The reason for this protest is, in the eyes of the activists, the “failure” of the Paris Agreement signed by almost 200 countries in the past by which the signatories undertook to reduce their gas emissions into the atmosphere.

After carrying out the aforementioned action, a series of videos were published on the organization’s social networks in which part of the activists can be seen explaining the reasons that had led them to carry out this protest.

This action was framed within a coalition of non-violent civil resistance groups “Unite against climate failure” -united against climate failure in Spanish-, which have carried out protests in the German country since October 17 and which is made up of the groups Letzte Generation, Debt for Climate, End Fossil Occupy, and Jetzt oder Nie – Eltern gegen die Fossilindustrie and Scientific Rebellion.
