Three Syrian Kurdish children have been killed in an attack carried out by an Israeli drone

At least five people were killed on Tuesday, including three children, as a result of several attacks carried out by Israeli army drones in southern Lebanon in the context of clashes with the Shiite militia-party Hezbollah that have lasted for more than nine months.
In a first attack, two people were killed on Tuesday in a bombing carried out by an alleged Israeli drone against a motorcycle near the Lebanese town of Arnun, located in the south of the country.
Medical and security sources cited by the Lebanese daily L’Orient-Le Jour confirmed that two people were killed in the attack, while the army is trying to determine their identities, although Hezbollah has not yet commented on the matter.
According to information collected by the Lebanese state news agency, NNA, a first bombing hit the motorcycle as it was travelling in the town, located near Nabatiye, after which a second attack hit the area shortly afterwards.
Another attack allegedly carried out by an Israeli drone against Umm al-Tut, a town located in the Tyre district, has claimed the lives of three Syrian Kurdish children, the aforementioned news agency reported.
Sources cited by the Lebanese daily L’Orient-Le Jour say that the three minors – identified as Mohamad Jerkes, Jean Jerkes and Jalil Jalil – were playing in front of their house, near a farm where their parents work, at the time of the attack.
This follows the death on Monday of a Hezbollah member and his sister during a series of bombings against Bint Yebeil, also in southern Lebanon, amid intensifying clashes following the start of the military offensive on the Gaza Strip in response to the attacks carried out on October 7 by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) against Israeli territory.
Tensions have been on the rise in recent weeks, with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu recently warning that the Israeli army “is prepared for a very powerful action” on the border with Lebanon, while Hezbollah’s number two, Naim Qassem, has maintained that an expansion of the conflict would lead to “devastation and destruction” in Israel.
For his part, the leader of the Lebanese group, Hassan Nasrallah, said last week that if Hamas and Israel reach a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, the Shiite militia-party will also “unconditionally” end its attacks from Lebanon’s southern border, as several senior members of the party had expressed in the previous days.
