The Israeli authorities have confirmed the arrest of three protesters in Jerusalem for “attacking the Police and breaking the security fences” near the residence of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, where the demonstrations have been concentrated.
In Haifa, two people have been arrested, one of them suspected of lighting a bonfire on a road. “Some of the protesters struggled there with the Police and at one point began to march towards the highway to interrupt traffic,” the authorities said in a statement reported by the newspaper ‘The Times of Israel’.
Demonstrations have also been recorded in Tel Aviv, where attendees have come to light small bonfires on the roads, in Netanya or Beersheba, as well as in Nahariya, located in the north of the country and where the authorities ask to avoid crowds due to the threat of missiles. of Hezbollah.
Dressed in Israeli flags, the protesters charged directly against the head of government shouting “traitor” and reminded him of his open corruption cases. They have also recovered the slogan of “Democracy or revolution”, used during the 2023 demonstrations against the reform of the judicial system.
Netanyahu announced this Tuesday the decision to dismiss Gallant – who will be replaced by the former Foreign Minister, Israel Katz – alluding to a series of disagreements over Gaza that have worsened in recent times and have caused the situation is unsustainable in a context marked by the open war fronts in the north and southwest.
