Five Mexican tourists die when a helicopter crashes on Nepal’s Everest

At least five Mexican tourists have died this Tuesday after the helicopter they were traveling in crashed near Mount Everest, in northeastern Nepal.

The authorities have confirmed the discovery of the remains of the aircraft and the bodies of the tourists just three hours after the helicopter disappeared, according to the Indian network NDTV.

The private helicopter has crashed in the city of Lamjura, in the mountainous district of Solukhumbu, shortly after taking off, as detailed from the Kathmandu airport.

Early reports suggest that the aircraft may have hit a tree on top of a hill. Two other rescue helicopters have participated in the emergency operation.
