() — Five people were shot and a suspect is in custody after a shooting at the campsite near the Gorge Amphitheateran outdoor concert venue in downtown Washington, according to a Facebook post Grant County Sheriff’s Office.
Beyond Wonderlanda two-day EDM music festival, is taking place this weekend at the Gorge Amphitheatre.
Authorities received reports of a shooter at around 8:25 p.m. US Pacific time at the campground near the town of George, the Grant County Sheriff’s Office publication said. The deputies then gave chase and “closed in on the suspect,” according to the sheriff’s office.
“We have five confirmed injuries. The suspect is in custody. The scene has been secured,” the sheriff’s office said. No details were provided on the extent of the injuries.
“The incident took place at the campground, not the concert site,” the sheriff’s office said.
The concert will continue as planned.
