Although it will not be available until October 12, from Digital Foundry they have made an NVIDIA RTX 4090 FE and have been able to try some games with the new DLSS3. FPS data is not displayed in this test, but if the increased performance offered by this new generation based on Ada Lovelacealong with DLSS technology upgraded to the third version.
To test the capability of this new NVIDIA RTX 4090 FE, along with DLSS 3have run the new version of Cyberpunk, the new Portal RTX and the Marvel’s Spider-Man game, all three compatible with DLSS 3. In some cases, has managed to multiply by 5 the performance relative to the native resolution. It must also be said that the frames generated by the AI of this generation are not perfect, showing some artifacts on screen.
In the Digital Foundry video you can see image comparisons with the native resolution, using DLSS2 and with the new DLSS3 together with performance information. We can also see comparative images with frames generated with the new NVIDIA Frame Generator technology exclusive to this new RTX 40 series, and see how some elements need some improvement. Latency has also been tested now that NVIDIA Reflex is part of DLSS3managing to reduce this with Frame Generator compared to rendering without any type of technology, but slightly superior to DLSS2.
We will have to wait for the reviews of this new NVIDIA RTX 4090 FE to know more details of FPS and performance in games, beyond testing the versions adapted for this new DLSS3. You can see the full video here.
