The Finnish authorities have announced this Thursday the tightening of the restrictions on entry into the country for Russian businessmen, students and owners as of July 10.
“The new restrictions will enter into force at 00:00 (local time) on July 10, 2023 and will remain in force until further notice,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
Since mid-July, Russian businessmen will not be able to transit to other countries via Finland and, in the case of owning real estate in the country, they will have to give explanations about their presence in Finnish territory.
Students, for their part, may only participate in programs aimed at obtaining a degree or as part of exchanges, but may not participate in other types of academic courses, as indicated in the text.
Previously, the Finnish government extended this type of restriction for an indefinite period, as well as the granting of tourist visas for citizens coming from Russia in the context of the invasion of Ukraine.
