A few months ago, Hiroshi Takai, director of final fantasy 16He was confident in the quality of the title and assured that there would be no day 1 patch. However, things have just changed, as Square Enix confirmed that, in the end, there will be an update for the launch of the game.
Fortunately, it will not be a giant update, since it will only weigh 300 MB. Square Enix explained that the update will be released on June 20 so that everything is ready for the game’s debut. On the other hand, the company revealed that the title was originally going to have 2 discs, but in the end it was not like that for a good reason.

Day 1 patch for final fantasy 16 will include these enhancements
Takai assured that they did everything possible to avoid a day 1 update; however, in the end they decided to release a patch to make some adjustments and various improvements. For starters, the update will improve the overall performance of the game in several locations that were not detailed.
Also, some minor errors related to the texts will be corrected. The update will also prevent an error from occurring and the game from crashing. Lastly, it will make adjustments so that progression doesn’t crash under certain circumstances.
With this, it is hoped that players will have a good overall experience and the start of their adventure will not be affected by annoying unexpected issues.

Naoki Yoshida, producer of the game, revealed something curious about final fantasy 16, since he confirmed that the initial plan was for him to debut on 2 albums. He said that everything changed in the planning 6 months after the premiere, because they realized that the RPG could fit on a single disc.
