Fifth Regional Intergovernmental Conference on Aging and the Rights of Older Persons in Latin America and the Caribbean

The meeting will be the framework for the fourth review and evaluation of said International Plan of Action, which at the global level will take place in 2023 within the framework of the 61st session of the United Nations Commission for Social Development.

On the occasion, ECLAC will present the regional report on the implementation and evaluation of the Madrid International Plan of Action on Aging and the countries will present their national reports on the implementation of the International Plan of Action.

The meeting, which will be held in a hybrid mode –face-to-face and virtual–, will be held at the headquarters of the United Nations regional organization, located in Santiago, Chile. The Government of Chile will assume the Presidency of the Conference, which since 2017 has been exercised by Paraguay. The Conference is supported by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
