Félix Maradiaga says it is “immoral” for Nicaragua to benefit from the free trade agreement with the United States
The Nicaraguan opposition politician Félix Maradiaga reacted in Conclusions to the fact that Nicaragua remains part of the Free Trade Agreement between Central America and the United States. Maradiaga described this situation as “immoral” and stated that it reflects an inability to enforce the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The United States Government opened an investigation into Nicaragua due to what it considers acts, policies and practices contrary to labor rights, human rights and the rule of law.
