Executives from Thailand visit airports in Japan in search of information

Executives at Thailand’s U-Tapao International Airport they have visited two airports in Japan to explore practices and development of guidelines for the Thai airport.

Keeree Kanjanapas, Executive Chairman of U-Tapao International Aviation Company Limited (UTA), and senior executives visited Narita International Airport and Haneda International Airport in Japan.

The delegates first visited Narita International Airport on February 15-16, and were received by Akihiko Tamura, Chairman and CEO of Narita International Airport Corporation, and the airport’s CEO, Hideharu Miyamoto. Thai executives toured the airport facilities and received information about the facility’s systems, such as maintenance and its latest facial recognition technology. They also visited the airport’s NEC Future Creation Hub, a hub that fosters innovation in the business and travel sector within the airport.

On February 17, the Thai delegates traveled to Haneda International Airport to visit Innovation City, a city built on the concept of merging trade and business. The group also visited the Airport Garden, a vibrant passenger rest area with spas, hotels, shops and transportation systems that connect directly to the airport.

Narita International Airport is the number one in Japan and the third busiest in the world.

The delegates first visited Narita International Airport on February 15-16, and were received by Akihiko Tamura, President and CEO of Narita International Airport Corporation.

It is also the main airport that serves as a hub for flights between Asia and America. The airport users ranked it fourth in the list of the 10 best airports in the world in 2022 and it received a 4-star rating for its facilities, cleanliness, security, immigration and services by the main aviation organizations.

These airport visits provided Thai airport executives with information to establish guidelines and best practices for U-Tapao International Airport and serve as an example for the improvement of airport services.
