EU tests its response to cyber attacks with large-scale drill

BRUSSELS Nov. 8 () –

This Friday, the Member States of the European Union and the European Commission carried out a large-scale cyber attack simulation against Europe with which the bloc tests its cooperation at a technical and political level.

This year, the Italian authorities have led exercises that bring together senior officials from the 27 and the European Executive together with technicians from the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA) to identify aspects susceptible to improvement in the standardized way of responding to incidents. and crisis.

This exercise aims to improve rapid and coordinated decision-making in the face of complex cyberattacks. Specifically, it tests the coordination of the network of cyber crisis liaison organizations, EU-CyCLONe, with which the EU seeks to improve the management of computer incidents and crises.

This network complements existing cybersecurity structures at EU level and cooperates at technical and political level with EU bodies focused on emergency response.
