June 22 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The top diplomatic official of the European Union, Josep Borrell, demanded this Saturday an immediate investigation into yesterday’s bombing against the offices of the International Committee of the Red Cross in the Gaza Strip, which left at least 22 dead.
“The European Union condemns the bombing that caused material damage to the office and left dozens dead,” Borrell lamented on his X social network account. The Israeli Army has been accused of the attack but a military spokesperson has responded that there is no proof of operations in the area.
For this reason, Borrell calls for “an independent investigation so that those responsible are brought to justice.”
Borrell also recalls that “the protection of civilians is an obligation of the Geneva Conventions and that all parties to the conflict”, in reference to Israel and Hamas, have to comply with it.
