EU countries summon Russian ambassadors in a coordinated manner

BRUSSELS, Oct. 2 (DPA/EP) –

EU countries have begun convening Russian ambassadors in their respective capitals in a coordinated initiative to express their rejection of the annexation of four more Ukrainian regions to the Russian Federation.

Germany has summoned the Russian ambassador to Berlin, sources from the German Foreign Ministry have confirmed to the DPA agency.

Likewise, the Russian ambassadors in Italy, Austria and Denmark have been summoned to attend the respective ministries this coming Monday.

Sources from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs consulted by Europa Press have not been able to confirm any information regarding a possible convocation of the ambassador in Madrid.

The Russian ambassador to Belgium was already summoned on Friday. This call is coordinated by the European External Action Service (EEAS), as confirmed by the DPA agency.
