The European Union condemned this Thursday the latest launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile by North Korea over the Sea of Japan, amid growing tensions in the area with the deployment of North Korean troops in Russia where they could intervene in the war. from Ukraine.
In a statement, the EU High Representative for Foreign Policy, Josep Borrell, has expressed the “firm condemnation” of these actions, insisting that the “illegal” launch by Pyongyang demonstrates its “continued intention to develop the means to launch weapons of mass destruction.”
“It is a flagrant violation of multiple UN Security Council resolutions, as is the deployment of troops and the supply of weapons to Russia in support of its war of aggression against Ukraine,” he denounced.
The head of European diplomacy denounces that these actions are “destabilizing and illegal” and endanger “regional and international peace and security.” That is why it calls on the Kim Jon Un regime to comply with its obligations with the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council and “abandon all its nuclear weapons, other weapons of mass destruction, ballistic missile programs and existing nuclear programs.”
