In recent years, the mobile market in the gaming industry has gained a lot of relevance and companies have begun to take it more seriously, something that is not surprising if we consider the millionaire profits generated by the games that are available on these platforms. Despite all of the above, there are still beliefs that supposedly indicate that people who play on cell phones or tablets are not real gamers.

Precisely, the popular esports team Dignitas echoed this prejudice and decided to make fun of people who play on mobile devices through a curious meme that was uploaded to its official Twitter account. Also, at the top of the tweet, he assured that mobile games are not games. Without a doubt, a bold statement.

Competitive mobile community furious over esports team meme

Unsurprisingly, the post drew attention in a negative way. Many fans and professionals lashed out at the esports body’s statements for disparaging the efforts of mobile gamers.

Since its inception in 2003, the Dignitas organization has won 18 esports world championships. Most of its squads participate in professional competitions of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, League of Legends, Rocket League Y VALORANTas reported from the portal Essentially Sports. However, it seems that he also has a team of crash royale under his wing.

Sonho, a professional player of Apex Legends Mobile, responded to the company’s tweet with notable annoyance. “I don’t remember asking. Also, mobile gamers are legit,” he commented. On the other hand, the co-founder of Tribe Esports, Tribu Ferg, assured that he won “more tournaments in the last 5 years than his entire organization combined”.

Due to the poor reception from the community, the esports team based in New Jersey, United States, was forced to remove the publication. Shortly after, he shared the iconic meme of the person who puts on clown makeup to acknowledge his mistake. However, the criticism and ridicule did not stop at all.

The truth is that people who use cell phones or tablets to play games deserve the same recognition as those individuals who play through a console or a PC, especially if we talk about a competitive environment. Perhaps the Dignitas group will have the above in mind before posting any more memes.

But tell us, what do you think of this situation? Do you think the community reaction was exaggerated? Let us read you in the comments.
