Telefónica Foundation Space celebrate this year 10th anniversary of its opening become a place of reference for knowledge, debate, analysis, reflection and meeting where to experience and learn about technology through new digital experiences.
Specifically, this project, located on Madrid’s Gran Vía, was inaugurated on May 12, 2013 with the aim of connecting people with knowledge, science and digital culture.
Throughout this decade, the Espacio Fundación Telefónica has had 6.3 million visitors face-to-face, 60 exhibitions, more than 1,500 events and 10,600 workshops and educational activities.
Among some of the most notable initiatives is the launch of the programming school 42Madrid, the SDIE Forum 2021. Digital humanities and the future of employment, the presentation of the White Paper on the Digital Transformation of the Third Sector and the Portrait of Volunteering in Spain and the Volunteering Awards.
“As a curiosity, if we focus on the prestige of our guestsI can highlight that, among the hundreds of experts who have accompanied us, we have had six Nobel Prize winners, four Cervantes Prize winners, 9 Pulitzer Prize winners, and twenty-one Princess of Asturias Prize winners”, underlined the head of knowledge and digital culture at Telefónica Foundation, Pablo Gonzalo.
Among these personalities, Nobel Prize winners such as JM Coetzee, Orhan Pamuk, Svetlana Alexiévich, Mario Vargas Llosa, or JMG Le Clézio stand out.
