Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed this Friday his willingness to make “significant contributions” to achieve peace between Russia and Ukraine after having a telephone conversation with Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelensky.
“The Turkish president has shown his willingness to carry out a diplomatic response and achieve the establishment of a lasting peace in Ukraine,” the presidential office said in a statement.
To this end, Erdogan has stressed that Turkey remains prepared and hopes to be able to play the role of mediator in a peace process between the two countries when necessary.
Likewise, the parties have addressed the latest events on the ground after almost a year of war, according to information from the Anatolia news agency.
