The President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, has declared his victory in the second round of the country’s presidential elections held this Sunday, in the absence of finishing the complete count of votes by the Supreme Electoral Council, the highest electoral authority in the country.
“We have completed the second round of the presidential elections with the favor of our nation,” said the president.
“We have won in such a way that no one has lost. The only winner is Turkey,” he added in his first appearance before the population, reported by TRT Haber.
For now, the country’s Supreme Electoral Council grants the president 53.4 percent of votes in favor, with 75.4 percent of the votes validated, and has asked the population for patience until the final results are published.
