MADRID 5 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Government of Equatorial Guinea has ordered the installation of surveillance cameras in judicial and ministry facilities to combat “indecorous and illicit acts”, following the controversy generated by intimate videos of the director of the National Financial Investigation Agency (ANIF). , Baltasar Ebang Engonga.
The images, which show numerous encounters with different women, have been widely disseminated on social networks and show Engonga having sexual relations. The official was already under investigation for alleged embezzlement and now the authorities are trying to resolve other possible crimes linked to the videos.
The public relevance of the case has led the Government to take measures and the vice president, Teodoro Nguema Obiang, known as ‘TeodorĂn’, has promised “severe measures” in the face of what he considers “a flagrant violation” of the code of conduct for senior officials.
Thus, he has ordered the “immediate suspension” of any official who has maintained relations in official offices and has ordered the installation of surveillance cameras. He understands that the images released “denigrate the image of the country,” according to a statement published this Tuesday by the Vice Presidency.
