September 17 (Portaltic/EP) –
Epic Games has announced that its app store, Epic Games Store, has now arrived on the tablets manufactured by Apple in the European Union, meaning that it is now possible to play titles such as Fortnite or Fall Guys on the iPad in these countries.
The developer announced the deployment of its official store on iOS and Android devices during its event State of Unreal 2024, held at the end of March, when it said it would make it available to EU users later this year.
With this, Apple complies with what is required by the Digital Markets Act (DMA), which came into force at the beginning of March and obliges the firm, considered a ‘gatekeeper’, to promote fair competition in the sector.
After several disputes between the technology manufacturer and the video game distributor, it launched Epic Games Store on iOS in mid-August and has now arrived to its tablet operating system, iPadOS.
The official Epic Games Store has therefore arrived with the latest update to the iPad OS, iPadOS 18, as the firm has announced on its X profile. Released this Monday, this version already allows you to use the store to download titles such as Fortnite and Fall Guys.
Epic Games Store is now available for Apple smartphones and tablets only in the European Unionas well as for macOS and Android globally, as specified by Epic itself in its Web page.
